What Does ADAS Calibration Mean?
ADAS calibration is a complex process that ensures the ADAS is in the proper alignment according to OEM specifications. If it’s not, it runs the risk of causing the vehicle to respond inaccurately and create a potentially dangerous situation. For example, a camera or sensor that isn’t correctly calibrated can miscalculate an object by several feet. Worst case, the ADAS may fail altogether. Calibration is often needed after a collision repair or major services, such as windshield replacement, suspension repair, or wheel alignment. If your airbag deployed, tires were replaced, or ride height was adjusted, ADAS calibration will also be required. Basically, any scenario where the cameras, sensors, lasers, or radars could have been disturbed should have a calibration completed.
