Is Your Vehicle Exhausted? A Discussion About Exhaust Systems, Muffler, Catalytic Converters, and Custom Exhausts.

Is Your Vehicle Exhausted? A Discussion About Exhaust Systems, Muffler, Catalytic Converters, and Custom Exhausts.

Exhaust systems have the job of ridding waste gasses from your engine's combustion as quickly and efficiently as possible. This system, whichever you choose, is crucial when it comes to maximizing your vehicle's performance and power. First, your engine generates power with fuel and oxygen, getting sucked into the cylinders of your engine. A spark plug ignites this mixture, causing an explosion within your engine cylinders, this is called combustion. Torque is the effect of this combustion within your engine's cylinders powering your wheels to roll on the road.   Manifolds and Headers Bolted to your engine head are manifolds with ports attached to each cylinder. They collect exhaust gas from the explosion, routing it to a single collector pipe for an exit. Factory exhaust manifolds are usually made from heavy cast iron. Although they do their job, they don't remove the exhaust gas very well. If you want better performance, you will want to swap your mani ... read more

If you see any damage like gauges or deep chunks taken out of the walls of your tires, they should be replaced. If not, tires should also be changed out if more than 5 years old, or if the tire tread reaches 2/32 of an inch or less. Pro Tip: An easy way to check your tread depth is by using the penny test! Why Veterans Day Is One Of Our Most Important Holidays

Why Veterans Day Is One Of Our Most Important Holidays

Living and working here in Colorado Springs is a dream come true. We live in a beautiful place. We are surrounded by a wonderful community. We are fortunate to have several critical military/defense installations in our region.    Because we live and work in Colorado Springs, we feel that Veterans Day is one of our most important holidays. Here are five reasons why we feel so strongly about taking the time to celebrate our military personnel.   Veterans have dedicated their lives to protect our country’s freedom. They sacrifice everything -- including their lives, marriages, time, and comfort -- as active military personnel. They are wonderful human beings. Many active military personnel and active veterans bear scars that are both seen and unseen. All veterans deserve our support.   We truly care about Veterans, because they are part of our families, too. Here’s a story that one of our auto repair team members recently shared with us ... read more

Doing It or Doing It RIGHT?

Doing It or Doing It RIGHT?

What does that mean exactly? Well, the manufacturer who designs and engineers the vehicle that you depend on every day requires certain repair procedures that may involve procedures that may not make sense to most of us. However, here is the bottom line.   You will hear us often refer to the repair as per the manufacturers' repair procedure or policy. What does this mean for you, the consumer? Well, that means the vehicle is repaired to the original specifications set by the factory.   Many repair shops choose to shortcut or flat rate the repair in the efforts to save time but not you any money. Sure, there are some tricks, and maybe with the proper tooling, you can save time here and there. But, when it comes to the operation of your vehicle, we will not take those chances.   Modern vehicles now have numerous vehicle technologies. An important one is Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), which helps to increase safety through advanced situational ... read more

What Is The Key To Proper ADAS Repair?

What Is The Key To Proper ADAS Repair?

Does your vehicle have ADAS? (Hint:  No, it’s not a medical condition.) ADAS stands for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems. These systems use sensors and cameras on your vehicle to automate, adapt or enhance safety and better driving. In 2019, there is a record number of modern vehicles built with some form of ADAS technology. Not all ADAS vehicles drive themselves. Some cars alert you when another vehicle is in your blind spot, or display a message asking you to pull over and rest if you appear fatigued. Other cars will park themselves. All this Advanced Driver Assistance System technology is quite fascinating, and there is so much the average car owner is unaware of. That is why we want to address the key to proper ADAS repair. Any vehicle with ADAS technology uses sensors and cameras to operate. However, the sensors and cameras need to be properly aligned in order to prevent a front-end collision. When your ADAS cameras and sensors get knocked around in a car wash, in ... read more

May 28– June 3 is National Tire Safety Week, the U.S. Department of Transportation and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is reminding drivers that proper tire maintenance is essential for safety and for reducing the cost of vehicle ownership.   1. Check Tire Pressure Maintaining proper tire pressure is one of the most important things you can do to ensure the safety of your vehicle. Make sure you check pressure when your car has been off for at least three house, as heat can cause tire pressure to rise. We recommend checking tire pressure every month, and before road trips and long drives. Don’t forget to check your spare tire, too! 2.
